Evan

I just have to do some updating on Evan mainly because I want to be able to look back and remember what all he has accomplished. Evan started speech therapy back in Nov because he was not really talking. But after he finally got tubes in his ears at 21 months he made a huge turn around. The doctor encouraged us to continue his therapy for his speech. So now not only is he talking up a storm but his speech teacher told me that she thinks he has caught up. He will continue doing therapy until he comes back up for an evaluation. But as his mommy I am of coarse so proud of how well he as done.
Evan here is what all you have learned (you have been able to do this for a few months now but I just now have decided to post). You can count to ten by yourself. We have been working on getting to twenty but you just stop at 10. You also love to count objects. When you are eating lunch you will always count how many chips you have on your plate, etc. You know your ABC's and can identify all of your letters! I always sing the ABC song to you and you just look at me and smile but never join in until a few weeks ago when I was singing them to you and stopped at P and you finished the rest by yourself! You know that E is for Evan and L is for Lillie and the other day you came to me with a T and said T is for Thomas. You also know all of your colors and can identify shapes. Mommy is so proud of how far you have come in the past 7 months!

Swimming Lessons

Well Evan had his fist swimming lessons last week. He did so good. I was really wanting to get him some lessons since he is fearless when it comes to the water. He was in a class with two other kids his age so it was nice to have a lot of one on one time. He loved going under and picking up toys from off the step and wearing googles to see under the water. Now hopefully we can start working with you more so that you will improve!!!

Grandpa, Nana, and Uncle Chris Visit

Last week Brad's parents and brother came for a quick visit. We had lots of fun seeing them. Grandpa and Nana evan got to go watch Evan in his first swimming lessons. Uncle Chris was only here for one night but the kids had fun playing with him before and after we had supper. We are so glad you all got to come and spend some time with us. Can't wait to see you all again!!

Nine Months!!!

Lillie is now nine months old. It is so hard to believe that in three months we will be celebrating her first birthday! It seems like I just had her a month ago. We went to the doctor yesterday and I think we are going to have a tall girl on our hands. She was 30 inches tall. She is off the charts in her height! She weighs 21 lbs and 10 oz. She is just getting so big! She has been saying DaDa and waving and saying bye-bye. I thought I heard Mama the other day but she has not ever said it again. She is a clapping machine and claps for everything. She is pulling up and cruising everything!!! She also has stood all by herself for a few seconds at a time. She usually bends down to pick up a toy then stands up and lets go and then falls a few seconds later!! She has became quite the fast crawler and is EVERYWHERE!!!! She keeps us on our toes all the time! I am so not ready for her to start walking but know that it is right around the corner!!!

Site of the Future Gaston Home

This a picture of our new lot!! We are hoping to get started on our new house here in the next few weeks. We are moving into a new subdivision that they are developing here. We have a 1 1/2 acre lot so we are excited about having more room for the kids. Watch for more progress!!!!

Gymnastics

Evan started gymnastics on Tuesday. It was a lot of fun. When we got there he was a little unsure of the whole idea but he soon warmed up to everyone. He is in the 2/3 year old class and there is only one other little boy at the moment. They jump on the trampoline, crawl through tunnels, slide, and lots of other fun stuff. At the end they all get their hand stamped, a coloring page and some candy! Evan ended up having so much fun and when we got home he kept trying to do a somersault and telling me he wants to go to nastics. Can't wait until Tues. (Next time I will try to get better pics)

We went swimming at Uncle Drew's the other day. This was Lillie's first time in the big pool and she didn't enjoy it. The water was a little on the cold side and so everytime I would dip her she would start crying. So I had to hold her up out of the water and she just patted my back and held tight to my neck the entire time. Evan on the other hand had the best time. He loved being in the big boat (the raft) and playing with Uncle Drew. When Drew tried to put him on the side for a minute he just climbed right back in.

Lillie discovered the door to the backyard. She crawls over to it and watches the dogs and talks and laughs.

Fun IN the Watertable

My brother came down the other day to play with the kids and this is what he taught Evan to do. His pool got a tear in it so Drew picked him up and put him in his watertable to play!!

My Local Celebrity

Just wanted to show off my little man who made the front page of the paper!!! Sorry it has taken so long for me to post this but we have had a lot going on in our family in the last few weeks. Anyway we went to the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Courthouse and after the ceremony was over Grandad took Evan walking around and the lady from the paper took their picture and got all of their information. So we all thought that it would for sure make the paper so we were even more excited to see him on the front page!!!!
