Pig Tails?????

Okay so ever since we found out that Lillie was going to

be a girl I have looked forward to the day that she would have hair long enough to put in pig tails! (I was even more excited when she had quite a bit of hair at birth, which meant that the time would come a little sooner)! So here you go, Lillie's first pig tails!!!!!! I cracked up because they just stick straight out. She got my super straight hair! When she saw herself in the mirror she also thought she was funny. The best part was when she walked into the family room and Evan saw her he yelled, "Look mom, its Shrek!" He was so funny and kept saying Shrek come play with me, Shrek come to my room! So I think that we may have to wait till they get a little bit longer before we wear them in public and also because she doesn't sit still for very long!

By the way just wanted to share some good news. My friend Heather got the results from her surgery and they were great! The cancer was not in any of the 13 lymph nodes that they took last week! She is very excited and relieved with the news. And also thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers last week. It has been a long hard week but as the days go by it has gotten a little bit easier. We all miss her so much.

Time for the Doctor!

We headed to the doctor for the kids well child check-ups. This is always a fun place with both kids!!!!! Lillie is so independent she wants to walk and hold your hand and screams if you try to carry her anywhere. So getting from the parking lot to the office is so much fun!! The kids did great once we got back to the doctor and they were in perfect condition. Lillie got her last round of shots (we missed her 15 month visit) so she had the most fun! Evan was 38 inches tall and weighs 34 lbs. He was in the 70% for both. Lillie was a little over 33 inches and now weighs a big 23 lbs. She was in the 95% for height and less than 50% for her weight. Which is a big change for the kids that always rocked the 95% as little babies. And the Dr said that she would not be surprised if Lillie ended up being taller than Evan? We will have to see if this actually happens!

A Sad Goodbye

Today my wonderful Aunt Marilyn passed away after her 5 year battle with cancer. She had been in the hospital for the past 5 weeks and we were told last week that things had taken a turn for the worse. We had no idea that we would only have her for a few more days. My heart is breaking as I type this because I will miss her so much. She adored my brother and I and just could not get enough of Evan and Lillie. She loved how Evan would say her name and always wanted to know everything that he was saying (she was a speech therapist)! Please pray for my Mom, Aunt Sandy, and Granny because they are all having a hard time letting her go. Most of all she had a son who just turned 16. I know that he is heart broken. I just pray that he will be able to get through this time. To all of us there will never be anyone like her! A huge piece of my family is now missing. Her funeral is Sat and I know it will be one of the hardest days to get through.

I also want to say thank you to all of my wonderful friends who have given me a shoulder to cry on and have offered to do anything to help out. I think that everyone we know has offered to keep Evan and Lillie! I feel so blessed to have such truely amazing friends!

One last thing please pray for my friend Heather. She found out a few weeks ago that she has skin cancer. She is having surgery early tomorrow morning. Pray that the cancer has not spread anywhere else.

Evan's 3rd Birthday Party

We had Evan's 3rd birthday today at Party Central. They have all of the inflatable slides and bouncers. I was so nice to have it there since they do everything. Evan wanted a Toy Story party since he loves Buzz and Woody right now. I found a cake on the internet that was made to look like Andy's bed with all of the characters. So that is what he said he wanted. I made the bed out of rice krispies and covered it with fondant. We found the characters at Toys R Us. I knew that the kids would not really like the fondant so I also made some little space ship cupcakes to them to eat. I thought that they all turned out pretty good since I have never taken any cake decorating classes. So all the kids got to play for a while and then we had cake and openned presents. It was a lot of fun. I tried to get some pictures but alot of them didn't turn out well since they were action shots! My mom of coarse took lots of pictures so I will post some more of hers after I get them! Evan had a blast and loved all of his little buddies and friends coming to party with him!

17 Months!

She now loves dressing up as a puppy!

I do not know what she was doing but love the bow!

Well Miss Lillie is now 17 months and so much fun!! She is getting so vocal and is trying so hard to say new words. I love it because lately she has started jabbering away in a language all her own and she will look at Evan and just jabber away at him. I just think that every stage of their lives just get better and better. She is know as the daredevil of her KDO class and her teacher says she is always trying to climb on top of the toys. When they catch her and make her get down they say that as soon as they turn their backs she is climbing again! She is still so sweet and cuddlely and when she gets tired she loves to sit in my lap and rub my arm. It is so sweet. She also can be a little sassy and can get a little temper when she is not getting her way! She has became a little momma lately and loves to feed her babies and tells everyone to shhhhh. She plays so well with Evan and loves to be in his room so that she can pick up all of his trains. I am so glad that they are so close. I could go on and on! We just feel so blessed with our two wonderful children.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Evan's friend Tristan
Here are some pictures of Evan at this KDO Valentines party. He got lots of cards and candy as well as two cupcakes! He was on a sugar high for the rest of the afternoon! Lillie didn't have a party but got a few little cards from her friends and teacher.

A Puppy Party!

Here is Laura showing the kids how to eat their jello bone
Evan giving it a try!

painting the dog house (you can see some of the kids with noses and ears)!
Of coarse Lillie had to paint too!

Today the kids and I went to a party for one of Lillie's little friends, Chloe. This was such a cute party and her mom out did herself with everything! When we arrived she had a grooming station set up for the kids to put on their doggy ears, paint noses and get their collars. My kids did not want to do this for some reason. We then had a story time followed by each kid getting to eat a jello bone from their very own doggy dish! Next we got to help paint Chloe's doghouse, then it was on to eat where Laura had a huge spread of food (all with some sort of dog theme)! After her cute cupcakes and and adorable dog cake it was time to go. The kids had the best time and of coarse did not want to leave the party. On the way out Laura had made doggy bags for all the kids to take home all of their goodies!!! Such a cute party!!!!!! I told Laura that she has found her calling in life and needs to be a childrens party planner!

Look who is turning THREE!

On Wednesday Evan will be three! I can not believe that our little man is getting so big. I made a little slide show of his past three years since I didn't have the blog when he was born. It amazes me how much he has changed in the past three years. We are going to Chuck E Cheese's on Wednesday night to celebrate with the family and then we are going to have his birthday party on the 16th at Party Central! This years theme is Toy Story!!! Oh it is going to be fun! Stay tuned for pictures.

Poor Guy!!

Evan crashed the other day on the way to Wal-Mart. Anyone with two small kids knows how hard it is to load them up and unload to a cart and so on. So when we got there I decided that I would just try to wake him so that we could go in. Well he was awake for about 2 seconds before he started to fall over so this was him rolling through Wal-Mart!

Play Tubes at Rock Creek

Check out his high heels!!

Friday we went with some friends to the Play Tubes at the Church at Rock Creek. This was our first time to go there and all the kids had so much fun. We got there around noon and had no idea that they locked the doors from 11:30-12:30 so the kids had fun playing in the firepit for a while outside. The tubes are really neat. They have an area down at the bottom for smaller kids and you can tell by the picture up above how big the whole thing is! The best part is that it is indoors!!!
